The Vanderbilt Chapter of ASCE makes it a goal to connect its members seeking industry opportunity to professionals who work with Vanderbilt. In addition to bringing in speakers to present at our weekly meetings, we host a semesterly Industry night, and maintain a student internship database so that any student looking for an internship can find ample opportunities.
Internship Database
Every fall we collect data from our members about where they had summer internships with locations, descriptions and how to contact them. This is a great resource for those who would like a summer position, but don't quite know where to start. If you are a Vanderbilt student you can download the database if you are signed into the university gmail.
Industry Night
Grab your resume and professional attire, because it's about to get crazy. Industry night has everything; professionals, banners, business cards, snacks, and even your favorite profoessors mulling around giving advice and support. Industry night is for all civil engineering students, even if you aren't looking for a job. It is a great way for underclassmen to talk to people working in the industry one on one and get some advice about how to pursue your interests as a civil engineer.
